Level 1: Ages 4-5

What we will learn:

• Develop fine motor skills
• Explore colour, pattern, creativity and imagination
• Foster spacial awareness, observational skills and encourage self-expression

Topics we will cover:

• model making, learning about colors, patterns and textures

Materials we will use:

• Drawing materials – colour pencils, crayons, pastels
• Painting materials – watercolors, tempera paints
• 3D materials – play dough, recycled materials

Level 2: Ages 6-8

What we will learn:

• Enhance observational skills
• Try new and unique processes and techniques (3D art from recycled materials and printmaking)
• Introduce principles of composition (planning your painting) and symbolism (representing feelings and abstract ideas)

Topics we will cover:

• Still life drawing, abstract art, 3D model making.

Materials we will use:

• Drawing materials – graphite, marker pens
• Painting materials – acrylic paints
• 3D materials – recycled materials, air dry clay, found items

Level 3: Ages 9-12

What we will learn:

• Develop storytelling and visual narrative skills
• Introduce basic principles of design like contrast and proportion
• Enhance critical thinking and visual communication skills

Topics we will cover:

• Storybook illustration and comics

Materials we will use:

• Drawing materials – charcoal, paint markers
• Painting materials – Gouache, watercolors, acrylic paints
• 3D materials – recycled materials, air dry clay, found items
